Boating Facilities.

An on-water census was conducted in 1991-92 of boating facilities in Sarasota Bay. Facilities were located on the water and their locations were noted on 1:1200 section aerial enlargements; these were subsequently digitized as points in an Arc/INFO coverage using the shoreline coverage mentioned in section 3.3.1. Information about each facility was recorded onto data sheets, which were entered into a database and later appended to the facility point coverage as attributes. A more complete description of the data gathering process is described in Antonini and Box (1996).
