Information on waterways came from a variety of
sources. The path of the Intercoastal Waterway (ICW), feeders, and
some local canals were interpreted from signage information by
Antonini and Box (1996). The location of some unmarked waterways were
evident from bathymetric information (areas where a channel exists
where no other obvious ways for boat passage). In local channels,
many of the centerline depth measurements used for the bathymetric
maps were coincident with an obvious channel; in such cases those
measurements were used.
